In today's issue we're debunking a myth. What it means to actually be an it girl.
Keep reading. You'd be surprised.
This damn question would not leave my head.
Am I an "it girl?".
For much of my life I tried to do it all.
Hot girl walks while sipping on my matcha and listening to a podcast episode
Retaining the information but also listening to the sound of nature and remembering to be present (I rarely ever was)
And simultaneously posting a picture on instagram to make sure people knew I was "that girl".
I was exhausted. In fact I felt like for years I was doing "inner work" that made me feel like I was regressing, not progressing.
It's a painful feeling to have when you realize that the work you've been doing has actually been making you feel emptier.
So if it feels empty to stay stagnant
But feels even emptier to grow "too much"
Then what truly fills our cup?
Contentment.
There's a quote that always stays with me.
"The man who has it all, is the man who has enough".
Sometimes striving doesn't equal fulfillment.
Just like constant reinvention doesn't equal happiness.
Although, I'll always be the first to tell ya to work on yourself "like a project you're obsessed with". (a famous line in a lot of my videos)
There's a key thing to understand here:
Growth is a beautiful thing
But there comes a point when appreciating the natural stillness of life is just as important.
Truly being an it girl is about digesting your life in all of its glory.
The good and the bad
and not always seeking to better things
Sometimes it's not necessary to fix what is not broken.
Maybe I felt called to write about this because I went through this recently
And I hope you can realize that the self help videos/books are great.
But that real life is even better
Not a "better" version of your life
Not a "better" version of your body
But your life right now.
In all it's messiness
In all it's beautiful ugliness
See the beauty of your process
Because who knows
One day
You might miss it.

Rishani <3 ;)
